PHOTOGRAPHY
This Place Between Us loves human stories which reveal authentic moments of genuine connection. With extensive experience documenting refugee experiences, international development work, and community initiatives, we create visual narratives that honour the dignity and resilience of our subjects. We specialise in photography that feels both intimate and truthful, preserving the energy of live events and the quiet power of personal journeys.
Our images go beyond merely documenting what happened—they convey how it felt to be there. Each photograph is created with respect and sensitivity, designed to communicate your mission and amplify voices that deserve to be heard.
“Cancer’s brutal. Beyond the shock of the diagnosis and the hellish side effects of treatment, there’s the blow to your appearance - especially when your hair is gone. You catch your reflection and barely recognise the person looking back. Your sense of self dangles by a thread.
I knew I wanted to capture that moment - not just for my own archive or to share it in the hope of normalising it for someone else. I wanted to remember or maybe discover - who I was in the moment.
Nicola made the whole thing feel like a cheeky catch up with a mate. We laughed, we gossiped, we reminisced. Wig or no wig, there was no judgment - just warmth, humour, and the reminder that it’s through vulnerability that we channel strength.”

OLESYA
I had the honour of photographing historian and writer Olesya Khromeychuk, author of The Death of a Soldier Told by His Sister (2022). Recently diagnosed with cancer, she chose boldly to go public and wanted to be photographed without her wig to help normalise this experience for other cancer patients.

HOME
I worked with Elevate Productions to photograph their 10-week storytelling course, part of a National Lottery Community Fund initiative. This free West London program, open to all ages, fosters creativity, confidence, and diversity through storytelling and media production.
During the course, riots erupted in London in August 2024, following a tragic knife attack in Southport and fueled by misinformation falsely linking the attacker to immigration. This photo series captures participants' responses to the riots, as they shared their perspectives amidst the unfolding events.
This work HOME was exhibited at the UAL Gallery in Peckham Levels in September 2024, showcasing the powerful intersection of community storytelling and documentary photography during a period of social tension and collective reflection.

DREAM ARTS
I documented Dream Arts' powerful production "LOVE SCRIPTED," performed at The Marylebone Theatre. This compelling performance was written and staged by Dream Arts, a dynamic theatre company showcasing talented young artists from refugee backgrounds. Their performance captures both the emotional depth of their unique stories and the authentic expression of their lived experiences through theatrical artistry.
